2013

It’s become a great game to ask Suri a myriad of questions from the innane to the highly poignant. M asked Siri today: Are you a computer? Siri responded: I don’t really like these arbitrary categories. M then asked: Do you eat ice-cream? Siri responded by finding the closest ice-cream shop. G asked: Are you alive? Siri didn’t respond. The question seemingly too existential. Then M told G that she’d like to turn him into a frog because he was annoying her. G responded that he wants our family to be more like ‘Toby’s Travelling Circus.’ I agree.

Boundary Speak (Diaries 2013-2021) centrally focuses on reportage of my life’s happenings, notes on readings, phantasms or wild forays, riffs off music or footnotes from poems that take me on a strange journey and thought fragments. My outsider artwork is focal on my Re-learn your Alphabet for the Twenty-First Century drawings (some of which are collaborations with my children), my robot series, as well as many other drawings undertaken over the period 2013-2021.
